Course Description

  • To provide the skills and knowledge for graduates to work in the multimedia industry at a professional level. 

  • To develop creative skills in the use of 2D and 3D imaging animation, digital video audio and interface design.

  • Employ a variety of multimedia production techniques to develop a multimedia application within a team environment.

  • Knowledge of the various software applications as applicable to multimedia design and production.

  • To provide the opportunity for further education at a TAFE or University level.

  • To provide sufficient skills necessary for freelance employment.

Qualifications and Recognition

  • Upon successful completion graduates will receive the Diploma in Multimedia.

Job Prospects

  • Graduates from this course are able to apply for work in the multimedia industry at a professional capacity and will be qualified in 

    • - The creation of 2D and 3D images and animation;
      - Creating source and edit sound and video elements;
      - Designing a computer interface;
      - Managing a computer based digital; imaging system;
      - The management and development of teams within the workplace;

Who can apply?

  • Successful completion of Year 12.or equivalent. 

  • Successful completion of the Certificate II in Arts (Interactive Multimedia). 

  • Mature age applicants 

  • International students who have equivalent if not better entry requirements. 

How to apply?

  • Completion of i.D.E.A. application form 

Selection Criteria

  • On receipt of your application form i.D.E.A. will be in contact with you to attend an interview. 

  • At the interview applicants are required to show evidence of your past academic results (if available) plus a folio of work. This folio is to demonstrate the applicants creative ability to undertake the course. The applicant can present whatever they feel best represents their creative skills.(Some examples could be paintings, drawings, photographs, video clips etc) 

Course Length

  • Diploma: - full-time: - One Year 

  • Part time: -1.5 to 3 Years. 

Assessment

  • Assessment is based on the completion of set work, assignments and short tests. 

Credit Transfer (Recognition of Prior Learning R.P.L.)

  • i.D.E.A.is able provide RPL to those students who are able to demonstrate that they have achieved the level of skills and knowledge equivalent to the module they seek credit for through work experience, through life or similar study. This is to be discussed with the enrolling officer at time of enrolment.
